The City of Gold Coast has long been a steadfast supporter of Wildcare and our volunteer network. In 2024, Council generously provided a fully equipped rescue vehicle to help our team respond to sick, injured and orphaned wildlife across the region. Their sponsorship covers the vehicle’s fit-out, maintenance, insurance and fuel, keeping our rescue unit stays on the road when wildlife need us most. In addition, the City of Gold Coast supports our community education program and assists with essential administrative costs — their commitment truly helps us protect local wildlife now and into the future.
The Noosa Shire Council has supported our local members through ongoing funding that equips volunteers with critical safety and rescue gear — including an emergency response trailer — and contributes to the care of critically injured wildlife in the region.
Through their EnviroGrants program, Logan City Council generously supports Wildcare’s work in the Logan region each year. This funding helps cover the cost of vital rescue and rehabilitation equipment and supports the rescue of critically injured local wildlife.
WIRES has kindly supported Wildcare with grant funding for essential rescue and rehabilitation equipment, ensuring our volunteers have the tools they need to save more lives. Together with Woolworths, WIRES has also supported the purchase of specialised food for wildlife in care.
The Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife’s funding has allowed Wildcare to build a customised emergency response trailer. This trailer gives our specially trained team the capacity to respond rapidly to disasters such as bushfires, heat stress events and extreme weather, providing critical care to wildlife in crisis.
For over a decade, the team at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat has stood by our volunteers through ongoing donations, raising funds through the generosity of their guests and staff-led initiatives. raised by their guests and staff fundraising efforts. To date, Gwinganna has contributed over $100,000 to help purchase specialised food and supplements for wildlife in care. With the rising cost of living, many of our dedicated wildlife carers simply could not cover these costs alone — Gwinganna’s unwavering support ensures they can continue this vital work.
The Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation partners with Wildcare to fund critical rescue officer positions, enabling our team to respond to complex rescues of species like koalas, bats, venomous snakes and severely injured animals such as kangaroos struck by vehicles. Their support helps ensure skilled responders are on hand when these animals need urgent help the most.
The Sunshine Coast Council’s funding helps local wildlife volunteers access training, emergency response support and essential safety and rescue equipment, enabling them to care for our region’s precious native animals safely and effectively.

ifaw has stood alongside Wildcare in our disaster response efforts across South-East Queensland. Their financial support has helped cover fuel costs and replace rehabilitation enclosures lost in floods. They have also provided essential training for volunteers responding to bushfires — strengthening our capacity to protect wildlife during natural disasters.
